The Birth of a Mini Ella: Quernus Crafts Magic

Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a wonderful dog that lives with me and her name is Ella. I love Ella so much, she is a very big part of my life.

I also have a friend called Kirsten who runs a business called Quernus Crafts.

Kirsten makes the most wonderful renditions of animals in clay, which being Scottish, she calls her ‘wee animals’.

How wonderful then, that you commission Kirsten to make a mini version of your pet.

And to this end meet ‘Mini Ella’ – I suppose I should really call her ‘Wee Ella’ which is the Quernus Crafts version of my wonderful and much loved, Ella dog.

Compare and contrast – which is the real one?

They both are!!

Just Who is Remy the Rat?

I am part of the Creative Handmade Artisans Etsy team. The team is diverse and has some really talented people. One of those artisans is Tanya who creates not only jewelry, but also strange whimsical creatures who seem to have a life of their own. I am convinced they come alive at midnight. Remy the Rat is my favourite, but just who is he? He looks a bit of a lady’s rat and a bit of a lad too!

Say hello to Remy the Rat

However Tanya’s skills don’t stop at creating crazy creatures, she also makes jewelry. A particular favourite of mine is  her tree  pendant within which sits a lovely little bird:
